WIP: What was I thinking?!?

It has been more than a year since I posted anything about what I'm currently working on. And, it has been a rough year. My mom had a stroke, I had some major health problems both of which caused financial issues. The financial issues forced me to move in with my mom which turned out to be good fer her health. It also made me realize that neither of us are Spring chickens and we both have way too many projects waiting to be finished.

We have been encouragig each other to finish projects that have been started. This includes fully finishing patterns with framing or other options. Honestly, my mom has finished stitching more projects than I currently have. Not that we are competing, however, her stitching hand still isn't quit fully recovered and tires easily.

This creates a back log in finishing projects for me as i am the one doing all the final finishing techniques. Our crafting table is a ghostly graveyard of unfinished projects, scraps of fabric, pieces of felt, dull razor blades, and dead markers. I think there might even be a sewing machine somewhere under that pile. Maybe.

Occasionally, I am able to just sit and stitch on a project I have all ready started back int the 90's. It is a beautiful scenic mountain with a castle in lovely shades of brown on brown on brown with a bit of blue for the sky. I got so sick of it I tried to find a different project already started with color. Instead, I started another new project that is more embroidery than cross stitch.

Of course, the embroidery is cream embroidery floss on cream aida. That's right, I traded a nice palette of brown for higher diffculty stitching level with an equally frustrating palette. I am still not sure what I was thinking when I started a new project instead of picking one that needed to be finished.
