Published by Craftways Corporation, this magazine showcases some of the best designs of Sept/Oct 1987. It also has articles about designers, as well as new products and techniques. It used to be one of the top selling magazines until it was discontinued.
Included designs are:
1. The First Christmas Family Nativity - Christmas carries many messages, not the least of which is the joy that is to be found in the warm togetherness of a loving family. Three Wise Mean and Camel can be found in CS&CC Sept/Oct 89 also available on The Stitching Elk etsy shop and website.
2. Christmas Greetings Cards - Quicker than you can say "Merry Christmas," the post man can be handing your lucky loved ones a cheery and made greeting.
3. Tulips Afghan & Pillow -Save this cross stitch part of this warm snuggly project for these chilly October evenings. Then let your family say truthfully claim you are "all wrapped up" in your Needlework!
4. Shenandoah Linens & Pillow (Goat, Cow, Pig, & Chickens) - Shenandoah is a crisp, clean, new fabric with uniquepre-woven windowpane stripes that frame your designs instantly. Stitch one or stitch them all -these projects move quickly because you don't spend time stitching the stripes!
5. Botanical Classics Series; Rose Gallica - The genteel art of flower "drawing" was often considered the ideal occupation for ladies of royal birth in mid-18th century Europe. Tulip Rembrandt can be found in Nov/Dec 88 and Lillum Martagon can be found in Jan/Feb 88 both available on The Stitching Elk etsy shop and website.
6. Victorian Welcome - Judith M Kirby quaint cottage offers a Victorian Welcome.
7. Apples All Over Sampler - Autumn is coming, you can feel it in the air. With sparkling days, brilliant fall colors, football games, school and apples, of course.
8. Cottontails - these irresistible rabbits with the twinkle in their eyes will capture your heart and your imagination.
9. Gopher It! Bookmark Contest Winner - No doubt about it, CS&CC readers are the most creative around! We loved your Bookmarks - the stitchery was outstanding; the ideas, delightful!
10. Gingerbread Girl & Boy Christmas Ornaments - VIG's (Very Important Gnomes) oversee the goodies on this Christmas table! The gnomes, called Tomtes, are held in high esteem in Scandinavia - legend has it that these bearded little guys are "keepers of the home spirit," and (if they like you) they'll watch over your house and crops.
Plus much much more! Thank you for looking and happy stitching!
